Welcome to Mundekulla Ecolodge - a harmonious retreat on 70 hectares of forest, lake, meadow, and garden. With a variety of accommodation options, from the breathtaking EcoTower high above the ground to the modern rural cottages, Viking cottages, and various hotel rooms, we offer a unique stay for every guest.
The scenic surroundings of Mundekulla invite relaxation and contemplation. Explore our numerous hiking trails, treat yourself to a moment of relaxation in our wood-fired sauna, followed by a refreshing dip in our pond or why not enjoy a relaxing time in our wood-fired hot tub?
Discover our ecological garden, which not only supplies our restaurant with fresh ingredients but also offers a place to explore. Take a tour on your own or let our gardener, Elin, guide you through the forest garden. Tours can be booked at the reception.
To make your stay even more comfortable, we offer the opportunity to pre-order a breakfast basket delivered directly to your room or a fully packed picnic basket for lunch, complete with a red checkered blanket! Be sure to let us know in advance to ensure a smooth delivery of the basket. Stay in a 25-meter-high wooden tower with a 50km panoramic view of the surrounding forest!
Resting on eight tree trunks from the Mundekulla forest, this wooden masterpiece rises 25 meters above the hill it stands on.
This unique accommodation offers a roof terrace with unbeatable views and an elegant Treetop Lounge where you can enjoy a cup of tea or a good drink while you sit and look out over the surrounding landscape. The EcoTower features three modernly designed rooms with comfortable beds for up to eight persons.
At the bottom of the tower there is a large modern kitchen with living room and at the top you will find the Treetop Lounge with comfortable furniture, a fridge, a small kitchenette, and a toilet. The kitchen and lounge are available to all guests in the tower.

The idea behind the EcoTower
The story of the EcoTower began about 80 years ago when Berndt Elmberg, the founder of Mundekulla, became curious about what lay beyond the forest he grew up in. He thought the best way to explore this should be to build a tall tower. He never let go of this thought and put the dream into action towards the end of his life. In 2023, the tower was converted from a lookout tower to first-class accommodation, and on New Year's Eve 2023, the tower had its first overnight guests. The well-known Swedish architect Stig Bengtsson, specialized in the restoration of stave churches, played a decisive role in the design of the EcoTower.
Now whoever ventures to the top of the tower can see that beyond the forest...lies more forest!

Welcome to Eneholm, a beautifully renovated 19th-century farmhouse located in a tranquil forest clearing surrounded by stone walls. The cottage, combining historic charm with modern convenience, is perfect for families or groups of up to 6 people. The cottage has beautiful vintage wallpapers, wooden floors, ceiling beams, an old oven, and an open fireplace. After a renovation in 2024 modern kitchen and bathroom facilities has been added. For an extra touch of relaxation, guests can rent a private sauna house with a fireplace and swimming pond. Eneholm is a perfect blend of past and present, offering an unforgettable stay for those seeking tranquillity and adventure in the forests of Småland.

The cottages Frej & Freja were featured in the filming of the Arn movies before finding their way to the Mundekulla forest. They can accommodate 2+3 people. Authentically reconstructed to likely resemble dwellings from the 12th century, at the transition between the Viking Age and the Middle Ages. Here, the whole family can stay across two floors in two comfortably made beds and on three mattresses on the loft. Behind the cottages, there is a newly built compost toilet, and guests have access to showers and toilets on the premises. There is a barbeque by the cottages and for those who wish to cook, there is a kitchen a short distance away. The Mundekulla Ecolodge invites for shorter and longer individual stays with different lodging and food options. Are you looking for a place to spend your family vacation, a few days to gather your friends, or are you in search of an inspiring setting for an extended stay to write your book, or to recover and recharge?
Our team will be there to help you create your bespoke stay and recommend activities to make Mundekulla your natural place to grow.
INFORMATION
Check-in: 14.00–17.00 every weekday. If you arrive at a different time, no problem, just give us a call on the morning of your arrival day. If you plan to arrive on a weekend, please give us a call latest Friday 17.00
Check-out: 11:00. Late check-out is usually not a problem, just check with us upon your arrival.
Reception: The reception is open on weekdays from 9.00–17.00.
Food & Drink: If you would like breakfast, please order in advance. We serve breakfast either in our restaurant or through a delightful breakfast basket delivered to your door. The price for breakfast is 150kr per person. Every Saturday during the summer, our café with farm shop is open 11.00-15.00. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner but not every day. Check our social media for updated opening hours and events. Some accommodations in our Ecolodge have their own kitchen. For accommodation without kitchen there is complimentary access to a communal kitchen on site.
